Teasing and joking can sometimes be difficult to distinguish, as they both involve playful banter and humor. However, teasing often involves making fun of someone in a way that may be hurtful or mean-spirited, while joking is more lighthearted and intended to be funny without causing harm. It's important to consider the context and the feelings of the person being targeted to determine whether it's teasing or joking. If the intention is to make someone feel bad, it's likely teasing, but if it's meant to be good-natured and fun, it's probably just joking. **

Additionally, lying can cause harm or damage trust in relationships, while joking around is generally harmless and can even strengthen social bonds. **

However, if the interactions are lighthearted and playful without any romantic undertones, it's more likely that they are just joking around. If you're unsure, it's best to communicate openly with your colleagues to clarify the nature of your interactions. **

When joking around turns into behavior that is hurtful, repetitive, or intended to harm someone emotionally or physically, it crosses the line into bullying. It's important to pay attention to how the recipient of the jokes is feeling and whether they are comfortable with the interactions.
